About Us

Gunz & Künzle Architects is an architectural office in Zurich with around 15 employees, founded in 2012 by Michael Künzle and Mathias Gunz.

Spatial ideas are at the heart of our work. They arise from urban planning conditions, the needs of users, and the possibilities and limitations of the construction process. Our ideas help to distinguish the essential from the non-essential.

We see them as openly accessible approaches – comprehensible, critically questionable, and capable of further development through dialogue. In close exchange with experts and stakeholders, they are constantly reviewed, refined, and made more robust.
Our goal is to design sustainable living spaces that not only meet current requirements but also open up new perspectives and leave room for future uses.
